From the balcony of my tiny apartment in Kits, I’m blessed with two views of Vancouver: the urban core of downtown high-rises, and the arresting beauty of the ocean and North Shore mountains. My Vancouver, a city I’ve called home for most of my life, centres on restaurants, shopping, and nightlife — a totally urban take. But that’s just one way to experience the most livable city in the world. For this guide we assembled a team of talented writers and photographers who access it in surprising ways, revealing an incredibly diverse city in the process. So whether you’re a visitor, a newly transplanted local, or a longtime resident with a healthy curiosity, I’m certain you’ll find plenty to (re)discover about Vancouver in the pages that follow. Happy exploring.
