Jane Jacobs, the renowned urban thinker, argued in her 1961 book The Death and Life of Great American Cities that the point of cities is a multiplicity of choice. Jacobs was referring to urban planning issues, but for the visitor to Vancouver, the choices don't stop there. Geographical and cultural diversity also make this city shine.
